This business law curriculum guide for use with eleventh or twelfth grade students provides a modular course of study designed to be covered in one school year using a four or five class periods per week schedule. The guide begins with a brief section covering the course objectives, administrative considerations such as abbreviated courses, general suggestions on teaching methods, and basic law references. The remainder of the content is in nine instructional modules which vary in length (from seven to sixteen pages) and allotted classroom time (from five to twenty-five hours) and include a brief introductory statement setting the tone and defining the parameters of the topics to be taught, performance objectives specifying the learning outcomes to be achieved by each student, topical content outline correlated with teaching suggestions for presenting the topics, and illustrative case problems with answers and comments. The titles of the modules are The Individual and the Legal Environment, The Legal Covenant, Personal Property, Real Property, Transportation and Travel, Paying for Goods and Services, Family Protection, Employment and Agency Relationships, and Business Ownership.
