Pursuant to Section 204 of House Resolution 988, 93rd Congress, this annotated inventory of private organization information resources available to the House of Representatives is part of a larger project intended to study the information needs and problems of the House in relation to existing institutions and services. Private sector organizations are categorized as foundations; non-profit organizations; scholarly and professional societies; business, labor and trade associations; universities; and for-profit corporations. Information resources are listed in the following content areas: agriculture, communications, consumer affairs, current events information, economics, education, energy environment, futures research, human resources, industry and business, international relations, justice, labor, minorities, national defense, natural resources, political system, science and technology, transportation, and urban affairs.
