Utilization of Research Results in the Building Industry. A State of the Art Survey. Final Report for Period October 1972-June 1974.
Wilson, Duncan M.
A problem in the building industry is the lack of coordination of research efforts and the time lag between the completion of research and the incorporation of the results in practice. A partial solution is attempted in this survey of current and past research dealing with innovation and other problems in the building industry and related professions in North America. Data sources for the study are personal interviews with over one hundred persons, questionnaire responses by half of those interviewed, and notes from five conferences. The information published in the report is intended to aid members of the building industry to discover what research is being carried out so as to reduce costs, maintain quality, and advance the technical aspects of building; and where to go for information. Descriptions of research and information disseminating organizations are taken from material provided by the organizations. (Author/MLF)
