Food from Learning; The International Extension College 1971-1976.
Perraton, Hilary, Ed.
The International Extension College (IEC), which exists to make knowledge available to the Third World about distance teaching and its relevance, is discussed. So far most of the work of the IEC has been in Africa. By setting up three colleges, and working with others it has begun to show how distance teaching with the use of print materials, radio and face-to-face teaching can solve educational problems of developing nations. This report describes the work of the IEC in Mauritius, Botswana and Lesotho and parallel work in Nigeria. Research on how to improve the programs is also presented. (HAB)
