Highlights and Summary Tables for CSQ Part I Data, Entering Freshmen, Fall 1975.
Reichard, Donald J.; McArver, Patricia P.
The data tables contain responses to the 200 College Student Questionnaire (CSQ) questions and nine local option questions for four categories: total sample at the University of North Carolina-Greensboro (n=496), freshmen dorm residents (n=442), by sex (n=496), and by student subculture (n=480). Preceding the tables are commentaries on (1) responses of interest and (2) significantly different response patterns by sex and by subculture group. More than half of the respondents identified themselves as advocates of the collegiate philosophy that education is for social development instead of career training, the pursuit of knowledge, or to promote social change. The data allow for comparison of student background characteristics, parental characteristics, high school experiences, expectations of college, career plans, and philosophy. (LBH)
