The Use of Videotape Recordings to Teach Clinical Skills (Evaluation and Remediation) In the Fields of Communicative Disorders.
Billeaud, Frances P.
A study was undertaken to evaluate the benefits derived by speech and language pathology students who used video tape recordings to learn diagnosis of communication disorders, to observe professional therapists and therapy programs, and to improve their own clinical techniques through self-observation. The use of video tapes to teach clinical skills was very highly rated by graduates of the program. A faculty evaluation also indicated that the tapes were perceived to be a valuable teaching tool. This document provides copies of the evaluation instruments, and it summarizes the results of the surveys. (EMH)
