Two papers from the opening general session focus on the interrelationship of economic, demographic, and educational changes based on its effects on occupational education. J. C. Rosenthal), (2) manpower research and information for vocational education less than Baccalaureate degree--three papers on the needs of individuals and agencies responsible for occupational education and training, (K. A. Tabler, M. J. Pilot, G. C. Boerrigter), and (3) manpower research and information for higher education: vocational and professional--four papers on the use of occupational supply/demand data as a critical variable for determining program offerings in higher education (G. E. Brehman, Jr., J. G. Kessler, W. E. Taombs, R. D. Newton, H. G. Richard). J. L. Norwood's keynote speech discussed occupational projections for the 1980's. two concluding papers discussed women in the world of work and summarized the symposium proceedings (M. N. Hilton, S. L.
