The bulletin reports on significant research, development, and current practice that bear on the social studies and the disadvantaged for levels K-12. The report is intended to serve as a guide for curriculum decision makers and other educators interested in teaching about, as well as to, the disadvantaged. The following five areas are discussed: 1) social studies curriculum; 2) teaching strategies; 3) instructional materials; 4) teachers for the disadvantaged; and 5) recommendations to educators.
