The guide has been prepared to assist instructor applicants in preparing for the practical test for a Flight Instructor Certificate. It contains information on the scope, standards, and administration of the new instructor practical test. A suggested Applicant's Test Checklist is included. Aspects of the oral test are preparation of flight lesson plan, evaluation of student flight performance, effective preflight and postflight instruction, flight instructor responsibilities and certifying procedures, and performance and analysis of standard flight training procedures and maneuvers. The flight test is concerned with the conduct of a flight lesson, analysis and correction of student pilot flight errors, and performance and analysis of standard flight training procedures and maneuvers.
