Educational Contributions of Associations. Ontario's Educative Society Series, Volume Seven.
Fleming, W. G.
The last of a comprehensive, seven volume study of Ontario's educational system, this volume examines those associations which have had a primary or incidental interest on some aspect of education. The first fourteen chapters discuss professional associations of educators and other professional organizations, such as federations of elementary and secondary school teachers, associations for the promotion of special education, and organizations of school trustees. The remaining chapters cover associations peripherally linked to education, including youth groups, religious organizations, service clubs and associations, and associations concerned with health. Within each chapter, the specifics of origin, objectives, structure, membership, policy positions, and contributions of each association are detailed, giving an indication of the influence of these associations within a provincial educational system.
