Although recent literature has discussed the selection, preparation, organization, and duties of paraprofessionals, little data have been made available regarding the salaries of these employees. To obtain information on the subject, the ERS included in its annual questionnaire on selected school practices a request for salary schedules for paraprofessional personnel. The salary information provided by 292 responding school districts is reported herein, system-by-system and by enrollment levels. No information is provided on the length of work day or work year. The wide range of position titles and duties represented, as well as the variety of fringe benefit packages offered, preclude making comparisons between systems or arriving at statistical median or mean salaries.
