Metropolitan America: Geographic Perspectives and Teaching Strategies.
Swartz, Robert D.; And Others
This volume is a collection of papers by participants in the 1970 Annual Meeting of the National Council for Geographic Education. The presentations are an amplification of the substantive material on Metropolitan America presented at the Detroit meeting by lecturers and field trip leaders and include newly developed teaching materials on the geography of Metropolitan America. Organized in three parts, the first section presents background material on the city of Detroit. Part II is a selection of investigations into specific problems of metropolitan Detroit. A set of eleven teaching units designed to involve students in the inquiry into urban issues comprises the final section. (SHM)
