Staffing and Training for Educational Closed-Circuit Television. Working Paper 7.
National Council for Educational Technology, London (England).
A committee drawn from two British organizations, the National Educational Closed-Circuit Television Association and the Association of Cinematograph Television and Allied Technicians, submitted a report on the question of training at all levels for personnel engaged in closed circuit television and allied fields. The report defines several kinds of jobs: head of unit, television engineering, television production, graphics, and film production. For each of these categories, a key list of tasks is compiled, and the distribution of those tasks among the typical staff of a unit is analyzed. For each staff post, the usual duties and training requirements are specified, including background and relevant work experience, previous training and qualifications, and in-service training. Various recommendations for in- and pre-service training courses are made. As the report concerns British television, some of the references are relevant only to that country. (JK)
