Annual Southern Region Research Conference in Agricultural Education Proceedings (21st, Mississippi State University, July 25-27, 1972).
A 3-day meeting of the Southern Region Research Conference in Agricultural Education was held in July 1972 for 22 participants to study the research implications for performance-based teacher education. The following presentations were made: (1) "Performance-Based Teacher Education in Perspective" by O.L. Snowden, (2) "Utilizing Agricultural Industry in Determining Performance Objectives" by S.D. Patterson, (3) "Career Development Programs for Agricultural Occupations" by F.J. Lark, (4) "Developing a System for Assessing Student Performance in Agricultural Education" by G.C. Shinn, (5) "Implications of a Core Curriculum for Agriculture on Performance-Based Teacher Education" by R.G. Shoemaker, (6) "Agricultural Mechanization Competencies Needed by Farmers with Implications for Program Planning" by C.M. Curtis, (7) "Young Farmer Program Research in Texas" by E.S. Webb, (8) "Agri-Business Research in Texas" by L. Lorenz, (9) "Implementing Performance-Based Teacher Education Programs" by W.F. Jackson, (10) "Relationship of Variables to Supervision of Students" by C. Byers, and (11) "Proposal for Teacher Demand and Supply in the Southeastern Region" by D. Craig.
