This book is concerned with man and his environment. It is an attempt to look at environmental and human problems from an ecological viewpoint; an attempt to ". . . provide a factual basis on which action to improve the environment can be taken." This book is written for the beginning university student (and the interested public). As a result, emphasis is placed on conservation problems of the North American continent; however, a global view of conservation is presented. Chapter topics are varied and include urban blight, chemical pollutants, dwindling fuel and mineral resources, vanishing wildlife, and rampant technology.
