1972-73 Student Charges at State and Land Grant Universities (Tuition, Required Fees, Room and Board).
National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges, Washington, DC. Office of Research and Information.
Tuition for resident students at state and land-grant universities increased less in fall 1972 than it has for any fall since 1968. Two universities even put tuition decreases into effect. The slowdown in the amount of increase in student charges is based on responses to a survey from 98 of the 101 multi-campus institutions holding membership in the National Association of State Universities and Land-Grant Colleges. Among these institutions, the median annual charge for tuition and required fees for resident students was $517.50 as compared to $493.50 in academic year 1971-72, resulting in an increase of 4.9%. The median amount of total charges for resident students was $1467, up 4.3% over the 1971-72 median of $1406. A chart of tuition, required fees, room rate and board rate for resident and nonresident students at the responding institutions is included. (Author/HS)
