Dialogue With the World; A Modern Approach to the Humanities.
Films, Inc., Wilmette, IL.
Entertainment films are being increasingly used as a means of stimulating discussion of contemporary problems, ethical issues, and cross generational dialog. In order to help teachers and organizations deal fully and responsibly with such films, this directory references 100 "entertainment" films under categories such as sex and marriage, justice and mercy, death as an end, prejudice, integrity vs. expediency, war, and meaning of existence, and ethics and the organization man. Each reference is illustrated with a picture from the film and is summarized in a few paragraphs. In addition, a list of those in the cast, questions for discussion, critical comments, credits and awards, and other films suggested for discussion in the same category are provided. A guide for the use and discussion of films in the directory and some suggestions for using feature films with children are offered in conclusion. (SH)
