This pilot study was designed to provide group participation for vocational rehabilitation services for Chicanos, using a highly subjective method of self-evaluation. The methodology was based on the hypothesis that growing concerns with race identity and development are a major factor in rehabilitation and personal adjustment of Chicanos. A total of 45 of the project staff and the New Careerists were interviewed. The results of the pilot project showed that there is a need for further study of the subjective method of self-evaluation and that the pilot study can be used to clarify the initial hypotheses before making major commitments of time and money for future demonstration programs.
