Six individual briefing pamphlets for members of the commissions of the York (England) 1971 International Conference on Teaching and Learning English comprise this document. The Conference is cosponsored by the National Association for the Teaching of English (NATE) of Great Britain; by the Canadian Council of Teachers of English (CCTE); and by the Modern Language Association of America (MLA) and the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE), representing the United States.
