How Slavery Came and How It Developed in the British Mainland Colonies and in the West Indies.
Sandberg, Richard P.
The story of slavery is told beginning with its earliest roots in ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, Ethiopa, and western Africa. The slave trade in the British colonies is contrasted with that of Latin America, but it is concluded that, for the slave, destination mattered little in his destiny. (The author notes that this edition is in first draft stage and has not undergone classroom trial.) Several general objectives and a bibliography are also included. (DJB)
