New Media and Methods in Industrial Training; the Principles of Training Design and Some New Resources for Implementing Them.
Robinson, John, Ed.; Barnes, Neil, Ed.
Based on papers and discussions at a national conference organized by the British Broadcasting Corporation and the University of Aston in Birmingham in July 1967, this book outlines the principles of modern industrial training, based on task and skill analysis, and looks at the part that new learning resources can play in implementing these principles. It considers in particular the contribution of programed instruction, directed private study, group discussion, problem-solving, role-playing, and educational radio and television in improving the economy and efficiency of training for operators and craftsmen, technicians, technologists, supervisors, trainers, and instructors. It concludes with a discussion of the responsibilities for training of business management and the broadcast industry. (ly)
