Using Immersive Video Modeling to Teach Classroom Social Skills to Students with ASD
Emily C. Crowell
ProQuest LLC, Ph.D. Dissertation, Tennessee Technological University
This study examined the use of immersive video modeling to teach students with autism spectrum disorder classroom social skills such as asking for attention, asking for help, asking for an item, and asking for a hug. The research sought the functional relationship between immersive video modeling and increased social interaction. An ABAB concurrent withdrawal design determined the functional relationship. During the baseline and intervention phases, the researcher collected frequency data. The data determined a functional relationship between the intervention and four out of five dependent variables.
