Organized Labor Playbook: Unlocking Career Success
Office of Career, Technical, and Adult Education, US Department of Education
This Playbook provides steps in which organized labor (such as teacher unions and building trades) can blur the lines between high school, postsecondary education, and the workforce. Organized labor plays a significant role to raise the bar for student success by contributing to an "education-to-workforce system" that focuses on unlocking career success. The four steps detailed include: (1) partner with career and technical education (CTE) programs, schools, districts, and higher education; (2) connect with national affiliates; (3) leverage the power of membership to advance career-connected learning; and (4) be an advocate for industry.
