Hultsch, D. F.; And Others – Canadian Journal on Aging, 1985
This article reviews two questionnaires designed to measure people's perceptions of their own memories and identifies several research questions requiring further study. Results show that, in general, memory perceptions appear to be multidimensional and involve belief and affective components as well as knowledge components. (CT)

To develop normative data for the revision of the Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale, the scale was administered to 4,972 children, ages 6 to 19 years, representing all geographic regions of the United States. Developed a new method for measuring goal hierarchies, called the Adult Intentional and Motivational Systems Chart, by interviewing 53 men and constructing a system summarizing their goals. Statistical outcomes conclude that both the Test Anxiety Inventory and the Anagram Solution Task exhibit substantial discriminant validity but relatively little concurrent validity. Investigated female older adults' (N=76) attitudes toward a similar- or dissimilar-aged dying patient versus a nondying patient. Confirmed less positive attitudes toward a terminal cancer patient. Studied death anxiety in a sample of 210 Canadian nurses. Analysis indicated a significant inverse relationship between social desirability and death anxiety denial. No other significant relationships were found between social desirability and remaining Death Anxiety Scale factors. (Author/JAC)
