Assessment Update, v37 n1 p1-2, 15-16 2025
Higher education stakeholders want students to succeed. Whereas the term student success is easily spoken among these stakeholders, it is more complex to define, measure, and improve. Additionally, the same stakeholders may have different ideas of what student success means and what programs and services best support students toward success. In this article, the authors focuses on these differences that they found common ground. Previously unacquainted, a moderator and three panelists were paired together to present a panel talk on student success at the 2024 International Conference on Assessing Quality in Higher Education in Berlin, Germany. As a moderator, one of the authors wondered how their panel would proceed as their institutions vary in size and mission and the authors' positions cross traditional institutional silos.
