The results of this study provide little evidence of any stereotyping of clergymen, positively or negatively, by junior college students. Responses to the counselor preference instrument suggest that clergymen are likely to be regarded unfavorably by male but not by female students. (Author)

Results showed that more anxious counselors were less accurate in their ability to recall words spoken and feelings expressed in simulated interviews. The total" objective test scores, combining the results of all four affective states, yield statistically significant results. (Author)

Factors related to staff turnover in a camp for mentally retarded persons were examined during 1971-1977. Staff were live-in college or graduate school counselors with special education or related majors. Studied the influence of counselor expertness and attractiveness in overcoming opposition to career counseling in two studies involving 36 college students and 45 high school students. Results showed the expert role was more effective in producing attitude change than the attractive role and suggested the need for counselor flexibility. (WAS)
