Photographs and family albums are helpful in marriage and family psychotherapy to aid in the understanding of family processes, relationship patterns, goals, expectations, values, traditions, and ideals. Berezowsky, Janet – Canadian Counsellor, 1979
The relationship of intimacy and individuation in marriage is paradoxical. In working with families, it is important to distinguish process and outcome. Likewise, it is important to distinguish between adaptation and growth goals. Intimacy and individuation will follow if counselors can facilitate process in the marital relationship. (Author)

Smith, Rebecca M.; And Others – Family Coordinator, 1979
Marriage and family enrichment is the new professional area in the applied family field. Soper, Patricia H.; L'Abate Luciano – International Journal of Family Counseling, 1977
