Data derived from a study on two groups of women, housewives and married working women, and widows over 50, was examined for the association between social relationships and formal schooling. A survey of the self-esteem, sex-role orientation, and perceived spouse support of women returning to work or school revealed that the first two factors were not related to the actual support received.
