A study of the relationships between the two inventories reveals many potential problems for counselors. Frequent inconsistencies and contradictions are found wherein like named scales appear to be measuring different things, while dissimilar scales often have strong positive relationships. Compared responses of females to Strong-Campbell Interest Inventory (SCII) and Vocational Card Sort (VCS). VCS was not significantly different from SCII in internal consistency. VCS themes were better predictors of expressed choices than were SCII themes. Results support use of Vocational Card Sort and SCII basic interest category. (Author/BEF)
