Surveyed 244 recent college student personnel graduates to examine their commitment to human development theory in their work. Results indicated application of human development theory was related to professional preparation emphasis, functional area of employment, and preparation background of immediate supervisor. (JAC)

Examined the persistence in student affairs work of 170 graduates between 1971 and 1981 of a master's program in student personnel. Presents an analysis of retention rates, timing of job moves, and attitudes. Results showed a significant attrition, and raised questions about the stability of the student personnel field. (JAC)

Knight, G. Diane; And Others – Journal of College Student Personnel, 1983
Surveyed recent college graduates (N=542) to determine differences between men and women in occupational status and career development. Results showed females employed full time reported significantly lower mean salaries than males across all occupational areas. Females were less satisfied with their career planning than males.
