Goal of study was comparing alcoholic beverage buying habits of University of Delaware students with those of students at other colleges. Random sample of 639 was drawn from 13,000 undergraduates and interviews conducted. Drinking at Delaware was similar to that at other schools. The galvanic skin responses of ten seniors currently completing student teaching assignments and ten freshmen with no prior special education work were measured to neutral, low and high arousal special education words. Recent research has shown that academic choice and achievement may be partly a function of the student's standing on the field dependence/independence cognitive style dimension.
