Lynch, Mervin; Cochran, Teresa
The purpose of this study was to develop and validate a set of semantic differential scales for measuring affective reactions of elementary school children. Hoogstraten, Joh; Christiaans, H. H. C. M. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1975
The relationship of the 1964 forms of the Watson-Glaser Critical Thinking Appraisal to four selected noncognitive measures was studied. Richards, James M., Jr. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
This study examined the relationships of the National Longitudinal Study of the High School Class of 1972 measures of locus of control and self-esteem to differential goal attainment in education, work, marriage, and fertility. The results raise questions about the validity of the measures, their underlying theories, or both. (Author/BW)

Allen, Bem P. – 1984
Research involving Potkay and Allen's Adjective Generation Technique (AGT) is reviewed concerning the measurement of anxiety. Haladyna, Thomas – 1982
The evidence for the construct validity of classroom climate measures was examined within a theoretical model where several affective measures served as criterion variables. The patterns of social-psychological and management-organization structural dimensions differed when the unit of analysis varied from the individual to the class. The…

Kifer, Edward – Journal of Youth and Adolescence, 1977
An heuristic method for constructing affective tests emphasizes a set of key questions which are used to define an affective construct, decide on a measurement procedure, and develop a framework on which to base items. Affective tests should be based upon prior specifications of constructs, and then manipulated empirically. (Author/MV)

Hopkins, Kenneth D. – American Educational Research Journal, 1984
In behavior research using cognitive and affective measures, there is often incongruity between the statistical analysis employed and the intended inference. This paper argues that incorporating items as levels of a random facet via generalizability theory allows the statistical examination of the inferential question in the desired universe of…
