Lukens, John – Journal of School Psychology, 1988
Administered the Stanford-Binet, Fourth Edition, to 31 mentally retarded adolescents who had previously been tested with the Stanford-Binet, L-M, with a mean interval between testings of 17.3 months. Found an intertest correlation of .86 and a median intelligence quotient change of three points in either direction. Compatability of scores supports…

Sandoval, Jonathan; And Others – Psychology in the Schools, 1988
Examined similarity of scores of 30 learning disabled students (aged 16 and 17) on the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) and the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-Revised (WAIS-R). Results documented similarity between WISC-R and WAIS-R for 16 year-olds who were learning disabled and had average intellectual ability.…

Spitz, Herman H. – Intelligence, 1989
Studies involving groups administered the Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale (WAIS) and the WAIS-Revised were examined to determine the validity of J. R. Flynn's (1987) findings of massive intelligence quotient gains in a single generation in many nations. Results for sampled adults support Flynn for the average intelligence range only. (TJH)

Threlfall, John; Pool, Peter; Homer, Matthew; Swinnerton, Bronwen – Educational Studies in Mathematics, 2007
This article explores the effect on assessment of "translating" paper and pencil test items into their computer equivalents. Computer versions of a set of mathematics questions derived from the paper-based end of key stage 2 and 3 assessments in England were administered to age appropriate pupil samples, and the outcomes compared.…

Reynolds, Cecil R. – Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, 1980
In support of the construct validity of the revised scale, a high correlation was observed between the revised Children's Manifest Anxiety Scale (CMAS) and the trait anxiety inventory, whereas there was no significant correlation with the state anxiety inventory. (Author)

Quereshi, M. Y.; Seitz, Rainer – Intelligence, 1993
Letter series and number series tests of items based on identical rules were administered to 160 male and 160 female undergraduates to determine comparability by testing equality of means, variances, and validity coefficients. Results indicate that letter and number series tests are not equivalent. Number series tests are easier, probably because…

Smith, Douglas K. – 1990
The consistency by which shared abilities are assessed on three intelligence tests was investigated. Instruments under consideration include: the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised, the Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children, and the Stanford-Binet Intelligence Scale-Fourth Edition. A list of shared abilities and the subtests…

Schmid, Kathleen Doherty; And Others – American Journal of Family Therapy, 1988
Examined the relationships among measures designed to assess two important aspects of family functioning: cohesion and control. Included these measures: Family Adaptability and Cohesion Scales-II (FACES-II), Family Environment Scale (FES), family sculpture task, and social desirability scale. Found preliminary convergent and discriminant validity…

Mask, Nan; Bowen, Charles E. – Journal of Clinical Psychology, 1984
Compared the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children (Revised) (WISC-R) and the Leiter International Performance Scale with 40 average and above average students. Results indicated a curvilinear relationship between the WISC-R and the Leiter, which correlates higher at the mean and deviates as the Full Scale varies from the mean. (JAC)

Pielstick, N. L.; Thorndike, Robert M. – Psychology in the Schools, 1976
Reanalysis of Wakefield and Carlson's data confirmed canonical correlations of .84 and .69, but analysis of redundancies revealed that only 34 percent of the total WISC subtest variance is redundant with the ITPA and 39 percent of the ITPA subtest variance is redundant with the WISC. (Author)

Kong, Xiaojing J.; Wise, Steven L.; Bhola, Dennison S. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 2007
This study compared four methods for setting item response time thresholds to differentiate rapid-guessing behavior from solution behavior. Thresholds were either (a) common for all test items, (b) based on item surface features such as the amount of reading required, (c) based on visually inspecting response time frequency distributions, or (d)…

Holland, Thomas A.; And Others – Journal of Vocational Behavior, 1974
Significant relationships between the Holland Vocational Preference Inventory (VPI) and the Strong Vocational Interest Blank (SVIB) were again empirically demonstrated in this study, and conversion equations were developed to use standard scores of SVIB scales, rather than items, to produce estimates of VPI scores. Kaufman, Alan S.; McLean, James E. – Journal of School Psychology, 1987
Investigated factor structures of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children-Revised (WISC-R) and Kaufman Assessment Battery for Children (K-ABC) for 212 normal children. Findings suggest correspondence between: (1) WISC-R Verbal Comprehension and K-ABC Achievement; (2) WISC-R Perceptual Organization and K-ABC Simultaneous Processing; and (3) WISC-R…
