Follesdal, Hallvard; Hagtvet, Knut A. – Intelligence, 2009
The Mayer, Salovey, & Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT) has been reported to provide reliable scores for the four-branch ability model of emotional intelligence [Mayer, J. D., Salovey, P., & Caruso, D. R. (2002). "Mayer-Salovey-Caruso Emotional Intelligence Test (MSCEIT). User's manual." Toronto, Canada: Multi-Health…

Mackintosh, N. J. – Intelligence, 2007
Mackintosh and Bennett [Mackintosh, N. J., Bennett, E. S. (2005). What do Raven's Matrices measure? An analysis in terms of sex differences. "Intelligence, 33," 663-674] reported that male students obtained higher scores than females on Raven's items that required for their solution addition/subtraction or distribution of two rules, but…

Spitz, Herman H. – Intelligence, 1988
From published data on the Wechsler subtest performance of mild and borderline mentally retarded persons, 4,304 protocols from 4,004 individuals were collated and their subtest patterns on other Wechsler instruments were compared. Results indicate that mildly retarded groups tend to score lower on subtests that better measure general intelligence.…

Smith, Glen A.; Stanley, Gordon – Intelligence, 1983
Relationships between intelligence test scores and measures derived from reaction time and perceptual speed procedures were investigated. Only three reaction time measures produced correlations greater than .25 with a general intelligence factor. Test-retest reliability of reaction time measures was low. The reaction time-intelligence relationship…

Jackson, Douglas N., III; And Others – Intelligence, 1993
In a computerized video-game-like spatial ability measure administered to 94 university students, the number of target hits was correlated with verbal intelligence quotient. The dynamic spatial measure does not load substantially on a general intellectual ability factor, but it does provide additional evidence that dynamic spatial ability is…

Miller, Linda T.; Vernon, Philip A. – Intelligence, 1992
The general intelligence factor (g) was investigated using 170 university students across three batteries of ability measures: (1) a short-term memory battery; (2) the Multidimensional Aptitude Battery; and (3) a reaction time battery. Results support the notion of g and suggest short-term memory as an essential aspect of intelligence. (SLD)
