A Reflection on the Teaching Practice through Substitute Teaching Model and Its Implementation
Yahui, Ran; Cuiqiu, Bao
Chinese Education and Society, v41 n4 p75-86 Jul-Aug 2008
"Teaching practice through substitute teaching" is an educational innovation with Chinese characteristics. It is a model of aid that is effective when applied to the educational and teaching resources of the poverty-stricken regions and also serves as an important reform in the internship system of normal university students. The priority of substitute teaching as teaching practice lies in qualified and steady teacher teams aiding in education in poverty-stricken regions, which is especially crucial for primary and middle schools in the countryside where teaching resources are inadequate. In the course of its implementation, chief importance should be attached to the training of educational and teaching abilities of normal university students.
