John Dewey's Theory of Occupations: Vocational Education Envisioned.
Lakes, Richard D.
Journal of Vocational and Technical Education, v2 n1 p41-47 Fall 1985
John Dewey's theory of occupations provided an intellectual foundation for an emerging group of early twentieth-century vocational educators. His theory is composed of three major themes: a synthetic epistemology of work and school, a redefinition of nineteenth-century manual training practices, and a theory of cultural recapitulation.
