The student teaching program offered through the Field Experience Office of the Department of Physical Education at Indiana University combines an advising system, placement, follow-up systems, and departmental student evaluation. The program begins early in the career of a preservice teacher and ends with the teacher in the classroom. (FG)

This article contains a supervisory development plan, which discusses the skill development and interrelationships of supervisors, cooperating teachers, and student teachers during the student teaching experience. Supervising teachers need to share specific behavioral information with student teachers concerning the use of particular behaviors and how they relate to motor learning theory and teaching style. Use of the Cole Descriptive Analysis System, an observation instrument that provides feedback about motor skills, is described. (PP)
