A study examined the teacher preparation programs in England and attempted to evaluate the effectiveness of existing supervision arrangements as perceived by student teachers, cooperating teachers, and college supervisors. This study examined the classroom knowledge of experienced teachers and ways in which this knowledge was articulated to preservice teachers. Results indicate that differences in knowledge structures and reflective capabilities of cooperating teachers have potentially powerful consequences for the quality of student teachers' experiences.
