Argues that an empirical test of the Theodore Roszak-Charles Reich theorem indicates that neither conceptual schema is verifiable: WASPs and upper-stratum Jews are not the exclusive carriers of those traits identified with the counter-erculture; socioeconomic status was only applicable to the youngest group sampled.
