Describes a study of 190 first graders' sex typing of the occupations of teacher and principal. Reports that children with female principals were more nonstereotypical than children with male principals and suggests that the presence of both sexes as models for school principal can positively affect children's perceptions. Surveyed 50 resident assistants and 46 dormitory residents in the fall and spring to examine changes in their perceptions of the resident assistant's role. Results showed that, while a substantial number of RA functions became less important to both groups over the year, supervisory functions became more important. (JAC)
