Turner, Greg S.; Weismer, Gary – Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, 1993
The ability to alter speaking rate was studied in nine adult subjects with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and nine control subjects. Results suggest that the relationship between speaking rate, articulation rate, pause duration, and pause frequency remained largely intact for the dysarthric speakers. Data showed greater dependence on pausing by the…

Dworkin, James P. – Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in Schools, 1978
Examined were protrusive lingual force and lingual diadochokinetic rates in 45 normal and 45 front-lisping speakers (7-12-years old). Results revealed that normal speaking Ss scored significantly higher on lingual force and diadochokinetic rate measurements, challenging the theory that lisping is purely a functional articulatory disorder. Timmons, Beverly A.; Boudreau, James P. – 1977
Reported are five studies on the use of delayed auditory feedback (DAF) with stutterers.
