Responses to an anonymous questionnaire on homosexuality disclosure at school by 34 teachers and 19 parents showed that teachers were more likely to disclose their sexual orientation to other teachers than to principals, and to women than to men. Reasons for nondisclosure by parents were fear of discrimination towards their child. (EMS)

Surveyed lesbian, gay, and bisexual student affairs professionals about work experiences related to their sexual orientation. Findings indicate that lesbian, gay, and bisexual professionals who were open to all people at work reported experiencing more discrimination in their careers than those less open. Presents the findings of a two-year ethnographic study on the coming-out experiences of gay and bisexual college men. Discusses four related themes: (1) coming out as an ongoing process; (2) personal changes related to coming out; (3) negative experiences of coming out; and (4) ongoing experiences of harassment and discrimination.
