Though the number of women in sport and the productive labor force have increased, the lower levels of support and pay indicate devaluing by a capitalist patriarchal society. Counselors who accept the gay liberation struggle for acceptance and equality, must first rid themselves of their own narrow or destructive attitudes toward homosexuals.
