Nachmias, Chava – College Student Journal, 1977
Articles (N = 61) in major sociological journals were analyzed for content and method of sampling. The findings show that females are underrepresented in studies on the formation of college plans. Significant differences between males and females were also observed in the effects of intelligence, peers, and social class on college plans. (Author)

Women's lower achievement level in professions is explained by the Multiple Role Negotiation perspective as resulting from difficulty in balancing the "active," demanding roles of wife/mother and a high-level professional role. The findings reveal that neither males nor females perceive the female familial role as the "more active." (Author)

Each of 96 college females and 95 college males were randomly assigned to either a high or a low subjective probability of outstanding performance condition. The findings are contrary to predictions based on the fear of success hypothesis. Implications of the results for the fear of success hypothesis are discussed. (Author)

This study investigated the nature of sex differences among university students' attitudes toward rape. Results showed males were quite different from females in their attitudes and tended to support many myths regarding rape. This study ascertains: (a) two-thirds of Mormons living in Northern Florida had married a non-Mormon; (b) Mormon females married non-Mormons more frequently than Mormon males; (c) one-third of the non-Mormon spouses later converted to Mormonism; and (d) there were distinct social differences between endogamous and exogamous Mormons.
