Chodzinski, Raymond T.; Randhawa, Bikkar S. – Educational and Psychological Measurement, 1983
This study investigated the factor structure of the 10 subtests of the Career Maturity Inventory (CMI). Although two principal factors emerged, the CMI Competence and Attitude subtests did not load distinctly on the two separate factors. Results also tended to indicate that the discriminant validity of the CMI may be minimal. (PN)

Compared the career maturity of graduate and undergraduate students (N=249) and investigated the relationship of gender to career maturity. Results indicated that achievement of career maturity tasks was similar for seniors and graduate students and that similar levels of career maturity were found between males and females. (LLL)

Examined high school students' (N=240) awareness of internal vocational information useful in career decision making and examined the effect of a vocational awareness activity. Results indicated tenth graders were unstable in self-perceived internal information relating to career choice. Appendix contains the Vocational Awareness Scale. (JAC)

Invesstigated relationships between intrinsic and extrinsic work values and career maturity for ninth- and eleventh-grade boys (N=402) and girls (N=483). Results revealed that sex differences in work values and career maturity were found to a greater extent than were grade differences. Implications for counselors are discussed. (Author/NB)

Investigated the Career Maturity Inventory (CMI) using 535 Canadian high school students. As expected, intelligence, grade, and sex were significant predictors of the CMI variables. Explored the ability of 269 students in grades 8, 10, and 12, to estimate their scores on psychometric instruments measuring self-awareness. No sex or age differences were found, but Black students were less accurate in their self-assessments than whites. Surveyed the vocational developmental pattern of Nigerian students (N=400) using the Career Maturity Inventory (Crites). Results indicated the overall vocational maturity showed a prototypic pattern of progressive increase by age, but especially by grade.
