Conducted a survey of 288 adolescents to see how their sources of sexual information, sexual interests, and actual knowledge were related to their sex, age, urban or rural residence, and ethnicity. Analysis of Anglo or Hispanic ninth-graders' (n=244) reports on coping strategies showed that females engaged in social relationships and creating change, either in actual or cognitive terms, more frequently than males. In 2 studies, the academic expectations of teachers (n=27 to 29 and n=30) for students differing by racial group, gender, socioeconomic status (SES), parental structure, and parenthood were studied.
