Describes the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Hazmat Training Program (Beckley, WV). It is the largest program in the nation for training skilled workers to safely handle toxic and hazardous wastes. The Dalton (Georgia) High School Apprenticeship Program, a joint effort of local carpet companies and the school, provides high school students with the necessary skills for high-tech jobs in the carpeting industry.
