Article evaluated programs for the elderly and the need for their improvement based on research indicating that people over 65 have creative ability and interests previously misjudged. Many senior citizens 75 to 83 years old (the fastest growing segment of our society) are attracted to the visual arts. Unfortunately, the visual arts and those who teach them are not ready for this new generation. Art teachers must prepare themselves to work with this group. Needs are discussed. (RM)
