Males and females were divided into "masculine,""feminine," and "androgynous" based on their scores on an androgyny scale. The three groups then answered a questionnaire on attitudes toward women. Results show that feminine men were the most conservative group. (SE)

Incoming university freshmen (n=752) completed an anonymous questionnaire, and their responses were analyzed by percentages, analysis of variance, and factor analysis. Sexual attitudes and behaviors of a representative sample of single students at a California college were surveyed in spring 1972. Eighty-three percent of the males and 72 percent of the females reported premarital intercourse. This behavior is discussed in terms of its interpersonal context and the students' sexual attitudes.
