Proceedings of a conference on women, work, and age are presented. The introduction by Carol Hollenstead give background on the topic, identifies the conference's goals and objectives, and describes the rationale behind the published proceedings. The keynote address, "Age Discrimination: The Invisible Barriers" (Sandra V. Porter), discusses reasons why women experience aging differently than men and why their lives become harder as they get older. Twelve workshop reports are included which consider issues affecting middle aged and older women workers. A bibliography is included with references from general sources and from 11 of the 12 workshop reports.
